She healed well! We kept her separate from the rest of the girls for a week, mixed baby aspirin in her water and let her rest. She is running around just as normal again!
No scabbing, bruising or redness is noted. She holds the foot up and tucked in when standing up, she attempts to walk on it and puts some weight on it but will limp. Thanks for the reply!
Our Cochin Stella (approximately 16 weeks) injured her leg. Unknown how. No obvious injury, not bleeding bruised. But Stella favors the leg and will barely walk on it.
How do I manage her pain?
It doesn’t feel/look broken, should we attempt to splint it?
Do we need to see a vet?
Can you share how you identify if they are male/female? Sorry we are so new to this!
We also have one Cochin, white leghorns and silver laced Wyandottes as well. Just trying to learn more about them.
New to chickens!
We have only one Easter Egger in the bunch and we are on the fence about if it’s a rooster. Currently Rosetta is a friendly chicken and seems to be the “leader” of the group. When the girls go out exploring the yard she leads them.
Any feed back would be great!! Thank you!!
