Did you treat the coop?? I had to clean mine completely out and spray it
I’m going to have to do it a couple more times. I’ll tag you in my post. There is good info there from the replies I received. My thread is titled Mites.
I did pretty good considering I was the only one holding him. I lay him on the ground, and he was a good boy. So all these pictures are from underneath up near his genitals up toward the base of his big fluffy tail. It actually doesn’t look as red as my other boy and then after I took the...
The powder was not available in our tractor supply store. My vet said shake and bake the chickens in a bag. I’m sure that would be less stressful than spraying them.
I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I heard about the elector PSP and that it’s really effective. OK, I’ll start treating them every seven days. I know the solution for inside the coop is much different than for spraying the kids. I can’t dip the ducks because they’re so buoyant...
OK, I agree with you about the ivermectin. I have 20 pounds of food grade diatomaceous earth. I’m gonna purchase a puffer and give that a try. I would so much more rather do that than trying to spray the ceiling and all that stuff raining down on. I’ll let you know how it goes. Plus the sprayer...
I am battling an infestation of mites in my flock. I have a goose 4 ducks, two roosters and five hens.
I’m handling spraying the birds, but the chicken coop is the problem. I follow up check after I spray them and they’re completely gone but then 10 days or so later they’re back. My chicken...
In the past week, two of my birds mysteriously died. They were free ranging, and I put them back in their yard. Everyone was fine then when I went to lock the henhouse up when I went to put them in for the night, one was dead in the yard and then a week later I opened the henhouse to let them...
Thank you for your very thoughtful reply. When I turned her over, I had her cradled in my arm like an infant, and she was very comfortable with that. My birds trust me tremendously and I’m close with all of them. I didn’t palpate her for abdominal fluid. She didn’t look too bloated, but I can...
I have a hen who is limping. I turned her over and she has a cauliflower looking area in her vent. It’s red. She is also breathing labored. Any clues? Those are the best pics I could take as I’m alone this am to take the picture. She sits a lot also hides a bit in the run. It looks like a tiny...
Trying to make sure to get back to everyone. She looks good this am. Eating and drinking in an indoor pen with a heat lamp. They will bring them 3/17 and they promised no more dawn or baths.
