I was just wondering when(approx) a Mum hen will start to lay eggs again after hatching beautiful babies. We believe the chicks are approx. 7-8 weeks old.

I put a hardboiled egg in the coop - and later discovered she had hidden it deep inside the hay... is this normal...

I went snooping and pushing bushes and branches around that I shouldn't have... a few hours after I took those photose both my hands started to swell up in little blisters.. like I've touched some kind of poisonous weed, plant...
Here's a pic of the old neglected hen house.. I think it can be salvaged. I don't know what the wooden frame infront of the hen house was suppose to be... but I'm gonna tear it down and reuse the boards on the hen house.

As for Betty's sleeping arrangements.. This has haunted us since she arrived. We have tried desperately to find her roosting spot.
