Thank you for the reply. I was just going to post the same question. I have new chicks and evenings are cool now. I'm glad to know they will be ok with Mama.
Reposting. My Barred Rock is now 16 weeks old. I'm trying to confirm, is it a rooster? He is not showing and signs of being a rooster but sure looks like one. Thanks..
I would like to install an automatic door opener. I already have a door with pulley system. I just want to ad an automatic opener. I prefer 110 ac. I have electricity available. Any suggestions? I already looked at the thread on hear and it looks like an advertisement for a specific brand. I...
Wow, so informative thread. I read it all because I'm trying to decide weather to keep a new Cockerel 9 weeks old. He came from my last batch of girls. I already have a rooster that has never been aggressive. He was adopted. My Cockerel crowed for the first time yesterday. So cute. So far I've...
I have 1 possibly 2 from a batch of 6. My neighbor has agreed to take one. I may keep the other if my splash Moran rooster will tolerate it. I have 11 hens, 1 rooster, and 1duck. 2 of the hens are 6 years old. I would like to keep a second rooster but l don't know if my hens to rooster ratio...
Well, you were right on the EE being a roo. He tried to crow for the first time today. It was so cute. Of course my other rooster wasn't happy about it. He went crazy when he heard it. Thanks for the help.
I have a barred Rock that has started developing a comb and waddles. Compared to one the same age, the comb is alot larger. It is 8 weeks old, or so l was told. Is it a rooster?
Is it too early to tell if this is a rooster? It's a 7 week old ameraucana. I was hoping it's not, but it sure is the dominant one of the 6 chicks l got and is larger than the others. Sorry l didn't get a close up of top of head. Very skiddish and wouldn't hold still.
I did something similar. I made a chicken coop inside my existing barn. I raised it up off the floor. Wish I wouldn't have. Cleaning would be so much easier if you could walk in.
