I've had bob, cots and buttons, and they all used the nest boxes I gave them. Sometimes they'll lay an egg outside the nest box, but when I check later on, they'll have rolled the egg into the nest with the rest.
I did not have good results with this. My first hatch of buttons, from shipped eggs, resulted in 4 buttons, all female. After a certain age, they did NOT get along. I had to separate them. One of them never laid an egg until she had her own space. I figure it was the stress as she was on the...
It can be difficult to candle quail eggs due to the shell colour. The coturnix are hard to see into and the button eggs are darn near impossible. I use a super bright led flashlight on the fat end of the egg. I candle when I set them to look for cracks in the shell, and then I candle again...

Bobs can be really nasty even as chicks. I had to separate them from the cots as we caught one of the bob chicks running around with one of the cot chicks in his beak & shaking it.
The problem with that is that I am not in Michigan myself right now so I can't set them. Otherwise I would. So as I said before, if anyone wants to give em a shot, they're free for the taking.

Yes, it was her mistake. When they were late, I went back to the messages I sent to her and checked and it was definitely the correct address that I gave her.
When the box arrived it was obvious that she had left out the apt number the first time, and wrote it in on the box later. In...
