I just worry about mice and rodents getting into the feed. I only have 3 chickens so I don't want food sitting out too long and going bad. I also cant free range during week days as I am at work almost all day.
My original plan was to feed the ladies twice a day, I have a feeder style that I could fill up a weeks worth at a time but prefer not to do that as to not attract predators.
I work 8:30-5 so by the time I get home and go straight to the coop the ladies are already roosting....not quite in the...
Hi! :frow
My ladies have been home for 2 days now! So far they seem very happy and are drinking good!
However I plan to feed them layer pellet twice daily but they really aren't that interested.

I think you guys are right! Plus I am a 4-H agent and will be doing embryology in 10 second grade classrooms which means 120 chicks need homes, maybe I will keep a few of those!
My ladies were born in early June and raised by 4-Hers, I bought them at a sale this past weekend. This rooster is pretty young as well but not sure of exact age as my friend really isn't as attentive with her chickens as I would suggest lol.
She hatched out several chicks in the early spring...

I recently bought 3 speckled sussex hens, they are staying at a friends right now until my coop is predator proofed (should be home within the week).
However that same friend has a mixed breed rooster that she is trying to rehome, she would like me to take...
