I’m going to wait until I get a for sure notice so I don’t upset her for no reason, but I always try to be honest and not sugar coat things. She knows the animals get sick and die.i don’t want to raise her thinking a goldfish ran away lol. So if I do get a notice I won’t explain the whole thing...
I do. It’s very strange because I haven’t seen anything from any neighbors yet. I’m wondering if no one wants to identify themselves as owning chickens. But honestly the city I live in almost everyone has some sort of farm animal in their yard lol.
Since they just announced the city I’m in as being mandatory euthanize yesterday I’m assuming it’ll take them a few days to get to everybody but I’m hoping we’re in a neighborhood that is excluded. I wish they had that information available but they don’t so it’s a waiting game right now. And...
They are going door to door in areas they have deemed mandatory euthanasia zones and leaving flyers. Then you have to schedule an appointment for them to come get your birds to euthanize. The website states that even if your birds have previously tested negative for the virus you will still be...
So I reread the page for probably the 20th time today and it does say this “ USDA/CDFA staff will contact affected bird owners with orders specific to their property” so I should receive something if I’m in the zone for euthanasia
Thank you. When I called there wasn’t even an option to talk to someone. From what I could find online I would have most likely received a notice or visit already so I’m hopeful we aren’t in the euthanasia zone.
From what I read on the site it appears that way because it says none of those birds can be purchased until the outbreak is cleared it said about 120 days after euthanasia
