We bought this guy to be our flock rooster. We choose him from the bin at TSC because he had a huge comb. He’s now 12 weeks and we can’t decide if he’s a late bloomer or a she. His tail is arched and scraggly. But his comb has no red at all. Thoughts?
This is hilarious! We had to make our chicks a bedroom in a section of our garage last year because we got chicks BEFORE we built the coop. Needless to say, this year we built a tractor for the new little ones before we got them. You make do with what works, then learn from the experience.

We got our 6 chicks at TSC 6 weeks ago. We also had heard stories about chicks dying and being very difficult to raise. I am happy to report that all of ours are still living, and thriving! We've just kept them warm under the heat lamp, provided fresh clean water and food, and kept their brooder...
