    rats are nasty and can eat them. mama will do her best to protect but you might want to set traps to get them out- somewhere the ducks won't get to/be hurt

    This is my first time solo. Last one was when I was 16 with my dad leading the wayw and I'm 41 now. I can't see the beak the pip is kinda low. On the one that pipped today I see the egg moving a little bit the zip hasn't started yet

    changing up a coop design

    i was thinking of doing a single slant roof too. rain run off to the back side (nghbrs fence line ha ha) i agree about ventilation- i planned to add some to the sides. i think i'm thinking 6-8 total birds. but want room for just in case i can't say no to a fluff nugget

    i haven't had chickens since i was a kid. even then they were my grandmothers. i never went in the coop. i thought each hen wanted her "own nest" :confused:
