No problem! My brother and Penny live in Auburn. I’m trying to help him find a home for her since I can’t bring her across the border with me. I’m the crazy chicken person in the family so told him I’d reach out to try to find her a home.
I’m up here in Canada too. I did a 24 hour turn around trip to help him medicate her and buy things he needed for healthing her up and teaching him some basics. She’s the friendliest chicken I’ve ever met. I’m sad he can’t keep her and he loves her too. It’s quite sweet he treats her just...

Hey Washingtonians! Does anyone need a super friendly little leghorn gal? She’s looking for a forever home:)
My brother rescued a chicken that may have fallen off the back of a truck. She was in rough shape but we’ve got her back to health (vent gleet, mites, but no sign of upper respiratory).
He’s been really loving having her. She’s ridiculously sweet, she’s a lap chicken, and just wants to be...
Hi everyone,
I am going through slipped tendon on a 24 hour old bantam. I’ve got her in a slipped tendon sling. Her feet are taped, and her legs are loosely wrapped with the medical leg wrap tape. I was unable to wrap it too tightly, as I was trying to do it by myself. But i believe it’s...
Okay, well... maybe she just had a moment. She’s zooming around the yard this morning in her usual fashion.
I will keep an eye on her and put all the suggestions for food into action.
This might be a case of a new chicken mama, not a sick chicken. She’s just my favourite chicken and it...
I’ll go buy layer pellets today and add them into their food.
I’ve nefer hosed out the coop. I just wipe it down with a damp rag and use elbow grease to get any poop off. Dust it off and take out all the shavings. Let it dry out over 8 hours or so and replace the shavings once everything...
Yes, I wash out the coop first thing in the morning, and let it dry over the day, I wipe it down with a wet rag usually just with vinegar water. I’ve not had it over the fall and winter yet, so I’ve only been washing it during the hot summer. I might have to change how I do it over the rainy...
I’m so freaking worried. Their coop is impeccably clean, I fully gut it and rinse it out every 2nd week, and I pressure wash their roosts at that point too. I’ve never seen evidence of a bug on anyone. Anyone who enters my back yard only ever wears shoes I provide and I’ve never had anyone...
i have a 24 week old Faverolles who has not laid her first egg yet. Tonight I noticed her just now waking very. Slowly then hunching up and pulling her head in. She was shaped like a football. Then she laid down and tucked her head in to sleep. I woke her up to try to feel if there was an egg...
This is only the second day with the ramp and their first week in the coop. The ramp isn’t too steep and there’s about 7 inches between the cleats. It’s already on a cinder block but only about 3 inches off the ground at the low end.
The ramp is at about 40 degrees.
hey all! How do you teach your chickens to come down the ramp?
My chickens are... shall we sat timid lol.
I have one chicken who likes me enough to coax her down but the rest just call to me and lay or look out the front door!
How long does it take to get them used to it. I’ve been sitting...
well,it was time to move the little chickies out doors. The coop is mostly done just some finishing touches to put on, I have more finials and painting to do, and adding the rest of the trim on. But it’s functional!
So, it’s their first night in the coop. I’m more stressed than I thought I...
No the trim isn’t attached yet. The nest box itself will have metal roofing on it, and the trim isn’t attached yet. The pond liner is a good idea. I can’t add on more roofing as an over hang unfortunately. The summers here can get to 80 and can get to below freezing for a few weeks every...
