Any ideas what the breed might be on this one? She’s really beautiful, darker on the head with a caramel body, and black &caramel tail feathers, grey legs and a black tipped beak.
Hi! We received two of these chicks in an assortment box from Cackle Hatchery. They are smaller than the rest but very bold and friendly.

Last February I purchased four cuckoo marans from cackle hatchery. One chick died within a week but the other three were strong healthy chicks and grew well.

Certainly I assumed our eggs couldn’t be fertile as we culled our only rooster maybe 8 weeks ago, however this egg looks like the target I was told fertile eggs would have and we had what I swear looks like a tiny chicken fetus in one of them.

I am new to backyard chickens so I still have so much unknown. These two eggs were laid a day apart, and I thought we only had one of our pullets laying- yet they seem diffferent shades. One is an almost rosy brown, and the other is a yellow brown.

She is 22 weeks old. Quite a rich brown with black tail feathers and I believe a cushion comb, however I’m a beginner so I’m likely wrong here.

We have three pullets who hatched mid September, and I’m guessing they should start laying as soon as it’s “spring” enough for them— as they seem quite mature now. We’re pretty north in the Midwest so it’s still only 10.5 hours sunrise to sunset and in the 20-30s here.

We have a Jersey Giant that’s 21 weeks old, not laying and I think it’s a rooster because of the tail feathers. My husband is pretty confident it’s a hen. Can anyone help us determine? Thanks!
