My Neighbor used to have a golden retriever who would literally just sit with the chickens and they weren’t even scared. On the other hand my other neighbor had a husky who chased them around and two years ago unfortunately the dog got a bite out of one of the hens. She has had a limp ever since
Hi this is Chubathy, I call her that because she’s chubby and it sounds cute hahaha. I was wondering what is her Breed, i got her along with many other Americana’s.
Update as of today 3/16: I forgot to update, I cleaned her out and that day I cleaned her I found another one bleeding even worse than the original one. We ended their sufferings as all of the flock were chasing the two down to peck at them which would’ve led to cannibalism anyways. So we ended...
Hi, I'm located in Worcester, Massachusetts. It's awfully COLD here and as a matter a fact, tomorrow we're getting 3-5 inches of snow. It's snowy here. The picture I sent above was an old picture (maybe a year old). Coop looks the same but snow comes a lot here in New England.
The chickens are overall funny looking and beautiful chickens. The bad side of owning this breed is that they smell VERY horrible. They don't lay and they didn't grow very big within 7 months.
I got 6 of these birds 1 year ago today. The lady at tractor supply said they were all hens and one turned out to be a rooster! Overall great birds and good layers, but one of them have a partial prolapse right now.
Update: 3 days later and the chicken still looks the same. I cleaned out her vent with warm towel and the chicken looks the same. She seems fine other than that. The reddish lump still looks like the same and she has more white fluids coming out. The other chickens are pecking at her, and I...
Hello,
I do not provide the food, my mother does. The feed is called Purina Layena Crumbles. There is room for over 30 chickens in my chicken run. Now we have another chicken coop to the right of the one inside. So a total of 3 chicken coops, and the chicken run built from my family and I. Also...
The feathers have been gone for a couple weeks now. The girls tend to pick at each others feathers a lot. But unfortunately my mother will not have the chicken inside the house as she thinks it will peck at her and has diseases. I don’t know how long this has been going on with the hen, but I...
This has stopped, but yesterday BESIDE the red lump there were white liquids just dropping out. Today during my time inside the run, I saw her poop twice.
That is exactly what I’m talking about. There’s a red big lump stuck under her vent. And there’s white fluid around it. She can still poop, I don’t know if she can lay.
