Alright I have been looking for quail chicks but I can't seem to find any button quail Chicks for sale and I did put pebbles in the water but what I'm doing now is putting less water in as well that way he/she doesn't fall and get water in his/her nostril
Earlier that morning I actually saw that I took her out and she seemed fine but I guess not.... Any tips on what to do if that ever happens again or how to comfort the other chick they were really close and those were the only 2 I hatched (it's my first time hatching and raising quail, or any...
She passed shortly after the post, I figured I would leave it up in case anyone else was in a similar situation. As soon as she hatched she was always interested in sleeping and wasn't to interested in food or water. Now the next thing to do is figured out to do with the other one since he...
So I recently hatched some quailies, and hatched June 28 day 18 of the incubation period. She hatched by herself with no help and seemed rather healthy besides wanting to sleep all the time and would always find some kind of crevice to nap in. Today I checked on then and she was laying down in...
Alright, and I am also wondering about the whole nesting thing and how to set that up I have seen people put nesting boxes on the ground also some that just kinda make an indent in the ground. (oh and this is slightly of topic but can pair coexist with each other like 2 a female and male pairs...
Oh, I didn't Think about dirt. But why fake plants, is it bad to have real ones? Sorry if I sound really inexperienced (well I am), it's my first time raising quail and I'm nervous I might do something wrong.
Screen tops I wanted to use because I felt nervous about putting a glass top on any...
Well I have a large gray tub and on the top It has chicken wire bolted to it which is what the chicks will go in (I have Pine shavings but I think I read they were bad for them so I probably wont use them), But I don't have anything for when they grow up but I was thinking up buying a large...
So Cute! I actually just got 7 button quail eggs that I'm incubating, this will be my first time hatching chicks and I'm really exited! I put them in the incubator on June 10 when they arrived and I'm going to candle them tomorrow!
I watched a video no clue if this will work, but a duckling wasn't keeping its balance and he put it in a sock overnight and it ended up being better. He said that it dose not work every time though but possibly worth a try.
The part is roughly at 8:08
Okay so, I recently tried hatching a chicken egg and the chick ended up dieing before it hatched. I guess my mom felt bad or something, because she went and order 7 quail eggs and I'm really lost on what to do. I currently have the incubator at 37.5 C and humidity at 47. I am using the janoel 12...
Okay sorry it's been so long I kinda got really attached . It didn't end up hatching though it looked like a black silkie with tan feathers, so a splash color, and fully formed too. No clue how it died but I guess mabye it hit a blood vessel trying to get out. I read that somewhere and can't...
Lil bit of sad news, I ended up cracking the egg open at day 30-something and there was a dead fully formed chick. It was going to be a splash color too it looked black with a few tan colored feathers, poor lil chick.
I'm going to once I get home I made a little progress yesterday the chickened out I also did the water test and the air bubble was facing the top and out of the water but was a little tilted, does it still have a chance or is it done dealing?
