Urgent: Chicken attacked last night and had a chunk out of her breast! GRAPHIC PHOTOS

I do not have nuskin, but I will get some! Is it just the stuff from a pharmacy? She is eating and drinking fine, she just laid an egg too. I have her in a dog crate in my office so she’s separated and in a quiet environment.

Urgent: Chicken attacked last night and had a chunk out of her breast! GRAPHIC PHOTOS

My dark Brahma, Clarice was attacked last night just after dusk, went out to lock up and she wasn’t on her roost, found a clump of feathers with tissue attached and her huddled in a corner of the run. I have removed her, cleaned the wound and treated with vetericyn (what I have on hand). She is...

    Egg has vanished!

I hope wasn’t her:/ she’s not as broody as the hen that is sitting but she cuddles up with her. It’s the only explanation I have at this point.

    Egg has vanished!

I do not, it’s a stand alone building and it’s hot as heck here, keep it closed up to keep it cool.

    Egg has vanished!

It’s the weirdest thing! They are inside in my office which is detached from my house. Kids are little and no access without me as I lock it up (computer equipment) the kids are also afraid of chickens so I don’t believe they’d even try. I searched her, I searched her pen mate, I searched the...

    Egg has vanished!

I have 2 silkie girls I got a couple weeks back who immediately laid 2 eggs, the gal I got them from said the eggs could be fertile and the girls were very broody so I let them go. The eggs are fertile and developed as expected. One started to pipe yesterday, at day 18. Letting nature take its...

Is this a pullet or a cockerel?

My suspected cockerel was confirmed last week when he started to crow. I had Always believed he was male and my buff was female. Now I’m second guessing it... what do you think, pullet or cockerel?

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

That sounds horrible! I hope it doesn’t escalate to that degree. I’m going to try to be pleasant but I’m doing my research. We are going away this weekend and I fear she’ll call someone before we get our ducks in a row and my pet sitter will have to deal with it:/ I’m ordering cameras for my...

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

Oh how I would love to move to Washington! More my speed :) The little area where I live, there are lots of chickens and urban farmers. Seems that the people that have issues with it are older and do not appreciate the change in their neighborhoods. I really didn’t believe we’d have an issue...

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

I don’t have a great feeling either:( I’m sure this is going to blow up. I’m working on getting ahold of the entire ordinance to make sure I’m 100% in compliance, I think I have to move my coop as it’s within 5ft of her property and I am told that is in the oridinance. Where it is now is the...

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

I don’t know who she’s been in contact with yet, I don’t know if she went to immediate neighbors or just the bordering neighbors. I don’t know how to handle that one yet. I may wait and see what the fall out, if any, looks like. We also have a pretty close knit nextdoor following. I was thinking...

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

Me too! It’s a dirty move, if she had general concern she would come to me first. This is literally the first time in the 2.5 years we’ve lived her she’s talked to us. We have a sign in our yard that says we welcome and love all our neighbors (summary) and she pointed that out “I see you love...

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

I do not have a good view of her yard, we have a 6ft fence separating us. I may get a step stool and look haha. I have put chicken wire along the fence to prevent them from going through it, it was gappy in some areas.

I don’t have an HOA, thankfully. That is a good idea. We also have a neighborhood avian/exotic vet I am going to contact tomorrow.

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

I have part of her visit recorded in our ring doorbell. She appears a little off;) I feel she wants them gone and is making stuff up. I really really do not want to move the coop, it’s in the best place is can be in our yard. It does butt up to the fence that borders her property though. I...

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

I was incorrect, I misunderstood her. Her husband had it as a child and went to the dr today for lung issues so they fear he will get it again. They were sent home with the paperwork... so he does not have it, he has lung issues.

Neighbor Claims my chickens have given her husband Histoplasmosis

Hi All, I am seeking advice. I have my very first flock, they were moved outside about 3 weeks ago. They are 12 weeks now, or so. Today my backyard neighbor, who I have never in my life spoken to came to our door with print outs from the Mayo clinic explaining Histoplasmosis. She claims...
