Curious about this 12 week old wyandottes gender. This one has greenish feathers on its neck and a few towards its tail. The other 2 that we got same time don’t have it 🤷♀️
Thanks! She said he’s 8 months old, will he continue to get feathers or will he fill out more next molt? (We have had hens for 3 years and they’ve always molted fine so I have no idea lol) first rooster we have had!
I picked up this guy yesterday and one of his wings seems weird. He was covered in mud so I gave him a bath to get most of it off but he’s still scraggly right now. One of his wings seems to go down farther and looks more spread out, not sure if he’s just missing feathers or it could be...
This is the best picture I have on my phone. I can get a better one tomorrow if needed. Also, thank you! We love them, they are so cuddly compared to our laying hens!
I posted pictures of this chick at 4 weeks and everyone said to post update pictures to tell for sure. I can’t find the original thread so hopefully someone can help! It is now 7 weeks and I have no idea.
I will post pictures in a few weeks when she fills out more! Just curious, how long does it take before you can properly sex silkies? I’ve read a realllly long time. I drove an hour to pick up this one after I saw it online so hopefully luck is on my side because I just love her!!
Thank you!! We have 15- 1&2 year old hens and I got 2 silkie chicks and my son had to have this one! It was straight run so I was hoping it wasnt a roo! I took enough of a gamble on 2 straight run silkies! Ha!
Can anyone tell the gender of this 5 week old? Supposed to be blue laced red Wyandotte but it looks darker than pictures I’ve seen online? My 3 year old picked it out at the breeders when I picked up 2 silkies.
