How do I catch a loose Pullet??!!

I added two from the same hatch, about 17weeks old to some older hens. Currently the one is still in with the rest, doing pretty good. Getting picked on by one hen but the rooster has accepted her. I was hoping she would be a comfort to the other hen but we will just see I guess. also hoping...

Yeah thanks! The tough part is she didn’t get to bond with the flock yet.

How do I catch a loose Pullet??!!

I just got a new Easteregger, she is mixed with Welsummer and is not very fond of humans. I added her to the flock and she flew over the 8’ fence, pretty much right away. The enclosure is about 38’x28’ so it’s decent size. We’re about to put a roof on but I didn’t think she’d do that. Clearly in...

    Orpington, English Silverlaced

Who knows a thing or two about Silverlaced English Orpingtons?? I have 5, 4 seem to be males…do they typically have white necks if they’re male and when can you tell this? I have red combs on 4/5 and that happened early on, they’re 11 weeks now…any feedback?

    Brahma, Isabell Pullet or cockerel?

I’m holding onto that as well. But I’m guessing they’re both cocks.

    Brahma, Isabell Pullet or cockerel?

Hi everyone! I posted these babies a few weeks ago? They’re now 11 weeks and have had so pecking issues. They’re two and both are getting their back feathers picked by other chicks. I HATE that! They get plenty of good food and water with lots of space! 182 sq feet of outdoor run area for 10, 11...

    Pullets or cockerels?

Hi, the one on the far right is for sure a cockerel. Look at those tail feathers. If the others have similar tail feathers you have all cocks.

Baby Chics Found Pecked to Death!

This happened to me this year too. First time in 10 years. Very odd, I did have new hens that were trying to brood but still. I ended up taking them to a separate brooder eventually after they hatched.

Brahama pullet or cockerel?! 8 weeks

Oh awesome! Thanks for the photo!! Pretty ;) I wouldn’t mind a big beautiful cockerel, but hens definitely make more room for my other cockerels that I have. Thanks for the feedback!! This breed is mighty tricky!

Baby chick curling feathers?! Vitamin deficiency?

Yeah I was thinking that too. Her bum leg is what worries me. I do think it’s some weird genetic thing. We will see I guess thanks for the advice ;)
