Hi everyone. I have a Blue Copper Maran rooster that is about 8 years old. He has never been sick before and I am very worried about him. Two days ago I discovered that his right eye was a little bit swollen and had bubbles coming from it. I put some Terramycin in/on it and I think it made it...
Hello! I have a Salmon Faverolle rooster with a beautiful big comb. But when I went out to feed last night, I noticed that it didn’t look quite right. About 1/2 of it is this blackish purple color and is very cold to the touch. He seems to be acting fine, (eating, drinking, running about for...
Hi all!! I recently have just had a new coop built for me and have a few questions regarding the floor. It is concrete so I am a little worried about my hens getting frostbite. I live in Montana, and we are expected to have a bitter winter this year(nothing new) I am planning on putting a...
Hi!! I have 1 barred rock hen named max, (among many other chicken breeds) and she is for sure my favorite chicken I have (shhh don’t say anything) and alothough she is definitely sweet, she has to compete with my 2 blue Cochins and my 2 light brahmas, for the award on most docile and social...

Thank you so much for your thoughts I will definitely be applying oil and jelly to his feet. It’s 100% okay for them to eat right? Because I know that he will be messing with them!
Also if it is leg mites then couldn’t the other chickens have gotten it by now. It’s been at least a year and all of my other chickens are fine! Not saying you’re wrong I’m just trying to really narrow it down.
Thank you so much for the advice. I don’t know if I would be able to soak his feet, I think it would cause him to get very stressed. Do you think I could just apply the oil and the jelly or do I absolutely need to soak them. Also can I use coconut oil instead?
Hello, my gray Copper Maran rooster is about 6 years old and is such a good boy. He is so good with all of my hens and isn’t really breeding them much anymore, due to his age. He has had bad feet for probably a year now but never this bad. I know that sometimes if the rooster breeds regularly...
