    Am I a rooster??

I need help!! Everyone is telling me that my blue Orpington/Cochin cross is a rooster and I’m in denial! I’ve added way too many pictures so you can get a great look lol I love this chicken and I can’t have roosters so I’m a little upset about it lol I was told it was a pullet when I got it...

Feather sexing 2 week old BLRW

I was reading conflicting information. Some websites say that blues can be sex link. All around though I am finding that BLRW roosters are slower to feather than pullets. I’m still noticing a distinct difference between these, and the ones I have labeled as pullets are still feathering much...

Feather sexing 2 week old BLRW

I have 2 week old BLRW chicks. They’re are 4 splash, 2 blue and 1 black. Their wings are developing differently and I’m wondering if the BLRW have sex link genes? Are the roos slower to feather than the pullets? I’m assuming from the wing differences that I have 4 roos and 3 pullets. Any expert...

What kind of chick is this? Please help

It definitely looks different from the others we got. These are the others from the same hatching, they are sleek, have yellow legs, and different colorings and different facial color pattern. These first two pics are the different chicks and then the last pic is the original one I posted (for...

What kind of chick is this? Please help

i got straight run this time. I got all my salmon faverolles as pullets but my silkies and (what I thought were) americaunas as straight run. My batch of chicks last year were all supposed to be pullets but I ended up with 5 roosters out of 12 chicks.

What kind of chick is this? Please help

We are really hoping it turns out to be a pullet, it’s so sweet and docile, the other ones we got in the same batch are way more assertive, walk a little taller and are pretty mean to all the other chicks in my brooder! I’m guessing with EEs it’s not easy to sex them until they’re older?

thank you! My wellsummers looked a lot like that. Someone was telling me that for EEs the fluffiness means rooster 😣

What kind of chick is this? Please help

It’s SUPER fluffy, and only getting fluffier. I don’t know of any full sized birds that are fluffy? None of the others we got from the same brooder are fluffy, they’re all sleek.

What kind of chick is this? Please help

We got them in a pinch because they didn’t have Easter eggers. I’d MUCH rather have an EE than ameraucana though based on temperment since I also have silkie and salmon faverolle pullets. I can’t find any pictures of chicks that look like this one though. I also should add, they had wellsummers...

What breeds are the ones with brown stripes down the back? We got 3 from a feed store and they said they were americaunas but we don’t think so

What kind of chick is this? Please help

I got 3 americaunas, none look like an americauna, but this one looks way different than the others! Can someone please help me figure out what chick it is? I am so stumped. I’ve never seen on with markings like this on the face. It’s got eyeliner, zig-zags, and it’s super fluffy.

    Americauna and silkie chicks or??

Thank you! I was thinking she might be a polish/silkie cross too. She has 5 toes and black skin, feathered feet. But she doesn’t really look like any of my other silkie chicks I got from TSC.

    Americauna and silkie chicks or??

Hello everyone! I’m trying my hand at a few new breeds that I’m not familiar with. I bought silkies from a local breeder, half turned out to be crested polish mixed. There is one still in question! I cannot tell what she is. She’s supposed to be pure silkie but she just doesn’t look like it! I...

Golden Sebright Bantys- hens or roos?

Does it help to know these two are always fighting each other and picking on the other pullets?

Golden Sebright Bantys- hens or roos?

I have already heard a little tiny crow twice from my brooder. I have 7 chickens, I can tell that all my full sized chicks are pullets. So im guessing the crow in question came from one of these bantams. I was shocked, I have never heard a chick crow so young

Golden Sebright Bantys- hens or roos?

I thought so too at first, but is there a reason that their combs look different? They're the same breed as far as I can tell
