    Meet my flock!

I've got a total of five chickens and two ducks. Planning on growing the flock to about a dozen once chick days are back at the local tractor supply in August. This is Murphy. We're 99% sure he's a Roo. He's a very good boy. The easiest to handle. He likes neck scritches and always gets in the...

HELP! What happened to my chick!

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, we ended up losing little Barbara. It's unfortunate and I'm heartbroken but who knows how long she was outside and what she could have gotten. We had to take ticks off her the day before so maybe it was from that? But I feel it's more likely she drowned in...

    I think I have a rooster.

I'm pretty sure one of my wyandottes is a rooster. The comb is very red and there's some red growth beneath the beak and around the eyes. If I do have a rooster, how do I keep him from turning on me when he gets older? I'd rather make him like me and keep it that way before the spurs come in. :fl

I had a coop and run on the property already. I inherited the place from my grandparents and they used to raise them. :) The little one that started it all is a mystery tbh. She just showed up in my yard! None of the neighbors claimed her so I took her in. I had been hemming and hawing over when...

Hello! My name is Dee. I'm trying to start living more self sustainably and chickens seemed like a good place to start. Of course, I couldn't resist the two crested ducklings I saw either so they came home with us too. I hope to learn a lot here too keep my peepers happy and healthy! :)
