    Congrats on your RIR, they are a great breed to have no matter their age. They will form their own pecking order quickly after getting settled in. You should just watch them for a few days just so none realy get hurt,but they will be ok.

    Put up an electric fence,an hang a strip of bacon from it. That should take care of the dog problem. As far as the child, call both the police and children services.Parents won't care,maybe after being cited for the loss of your chicks they might get that they need to watch their kid.

    Never had an issue with them hurting themselves, when the cabbage is gone they just leave the cord and screw alone. I then put it up into the tree entill the next time.
