This was an exciting morning. I welcomed the sun with a look out the back window, expecting to see the chickens emerging. Instead there was a raccoon pacing the bottom level of the coop with the door still closed. Figured that's it, time to start a new flock. I went out and heard some chickens...
I suppose it could've been an owl but I doubt it. It was pretty dark and they were huddled up in the corner of the fence, behind the possums' tree trunk. I shouldn't have let them out that early but honestly I was more concerned about the known threat of aggressive chickens.

I’ve read warnings about only integrating 2 or more, never a single, so I was nervous. Good news, we put her in the big girl coop and she’s perched next to our current brooder. And Rocky is content on her roost, no pecking. Fingers crossed. I do have a trap, will set that up tomorrow.
No secure run to speak of, just a 2 story coop with 4x6 “run” area below. We let them out during the day. Our yard is fenced in but obviously accessible by possum. We live in the city and the only other predator I’ve seen is a hawk.
