    Hard Boiling Eggs

Bring your water to a hard boil first. While that's going on, prep your eggs. I store my eggs pointy side down. I use a corn on the cob poker to put a small hole in the fat bottom of each egg. Once you have a tiny hole in each egg, put in boiling water for exactly 9 minutes. Remove and...

Humane Culling for Pet Chickens: Chopping Block or Kill Cone?

My son has to kill two of our younger pullets. He laid 1 board on the cement. Laid the chickens head on the board and put another board gently on top of her head. He held the board gently with one foot then jumped down hard smashing only her head. Instant kill. No flailing.

Eggs for food vs eggs for chicks...sound off please

Eggs for food vs eggs for chicks...sound off please

I'm finding that my grandmother and her friends want to buy my eggs. The older generation seems to know what's good. Lack of education on our young generation.

My Rhode Island Red Layed this...

Idk. I'm going to install cameras to see who is laying what. I have 1 New Hampshire, 3 RIRs, 1 Sapphire Gem, 2 Black Sexlinks, 3 White Rocks that might be laying that egg. It's a lighter beige color. Similar to the 3 1/2 inch egg pictured above.

Rescued hen has tiny white bugs. Help

She runs from him. He is courting her and I allow him to mount her. When he mounts her, she doesn't just put her head down and tail up, she almost goes completely limp and he crushes her almost flat to ground. She spent 3 night in henhouse. I have to put her in each night and coax out in...
