    Should we eat the eggs??

    What was in the rat poison? It is usually warfarin whick is used as a blood thinner medication for people. If the chickens survive, they didn't eat much. I wouldn't think the tiny amount that would come through into an egg would be harmful but I don't know that much about chicken metaboliism...

    Giving a broody hen chicks

    I have a hen who has been "setting" for a couple of weeks, but since I don't have a rooster, I don't have any fertile eggs to give her. I would like to give her some day old chicks to raise. I have heard it is possible if you put them under her at night. Does anyone have any experience with this?

    I have a hen that has been "setting" for a couple of weeks. I don't have a rooster so no eggs to give her. I am thinking about getting her a couple of day old chicks and putting them under her at night hoping she will raise them. Years ago when I was living on a farm I heard this was possible...
