Wow! What a recovery. Great job nursing him. Hopefully you won’t need to make a sling/swing anytime soon but I’m happy to offer advice if you ever do. I’m still shocked it worked.
No problem. I wasn’t able to heal the bad leg but it really helped to strengthen her good leg and get her used to being upright and trying to use it. She’s got a strong spirit this one. She just needed a little extra care and support. I never thought I’d love a chicken this much. Haha!!
Oh boy! Well I can’t bring her with me until then. I already have 3 hens and 3 “teenagers” (about 2.5 months) so I was hoping I didn’t have to bring more chicks into this equation but it might be my only option. Thank you for the advice.
It’s a cardboard base that I cut to make the right shape and holes for her legs. It’s covered in vet wrap to keep the cardboard strong and help to strap her in.
