    Gracie: One year later

Greetings!! We last posted here about a year ago "Sick Toulouse Goose" and wanted to update how our girl Gracie is doing. She is 13 now and once again laying eggs. I think we are currently at 14 so far. Thanks to some wonderful folks here (Miss Lydia!) we were able to get through a rough...

Gracie update...............she seems to be eating quite normally now and has started her molt. I still supplement her feed with a little kitty food. So happy she is herself again!! I don't know if I'll ever figure out what happened...could be a combination of things. Once again, many thanks!!!

Yes, it seems we are still coming back up to 'normal' lol...whatever that is around here. I'm looking at her right now as I type this. I just gave her a couple of tablespoons of Purina One urinary tract formula for cats....I've been pouring it into the container of lay mash/cracked corn. She...

    Sick Toulouse Goose

Gracie is starting to eat more normally. She's still not 100 percent but we are hopefully on the right track. One thing I did misspeak about was her medication...she hasn't been on metronidazole. It is albon. Her test results came back positive for coccidia so the albon has been extended...

Thank you again SO much! We are certainly not out of the woods but at least have a plan and I was very encouraged by her eating the kibble. She's always been alittle funny that way, preferring the dog's food over mash or pellets. It's just now the dogs gobble it up right away and don't let...

    Sick Toulouse Goose

This year Gracie has been laying an egg maybe once every 2 days or so. I'm waiting to collect a stool sample from her. ps.. she used to eat the dog's food all of the time. I tried tossing her some Iam's senior lrg breed kibble. Score! She gobbled it up.

Thank you Miss Lydia! I've never tube fed, though I've used syringes to feed sick kitties. I also read that Panacur is a good choice for wormer. I'll have to confine Gracie again so I can collect a good sample. We are supposed to get more showers and I'll put her back in the garage.

    Sick Toulouse Goose

I have to say that this illness/condition was a fairly acute onset. Gracie went diving for the laymash in the chicken coop earlier in the day and seemed 'herself'. Only when I observed this broken soft shell egg right behind her when she was at the water dish did things seem to go downhill...

Gracie has never been wormed. Is it safe to do so while she is weak, not eating? Thank you!!

    Sick Toulouse Goose

She has not improved. She basically has no appetite but occasionally stops to eat dirt or will take a piece of bread. I have soaked alfalfa pellets, layer mash, oats and even some scrambled egg and she's not interested. We've had a freaky cold rain storm here and I've had to put her in the...

    Sick Toulouse Goose

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting here. Gracie is 12 years old and 2 days ago I noticed her standing next to the waterer with a soft egg on the ground just behind her. It was broken and had apparently just come out. She has been eating a lot of dirt and drinking in between so...
