Wow! I guess I need to be checking more often! I run out first thing in the Am to check. I always ask them did you give me an egg yet? Lol. They are all 18 weeks and nothing yet. we have two rhode islands, two americana's and 2 white leghorns
I have never killed an animal before and this was pretty devestating for me. It has been messing around my coop for the fast few day's. It went as far to dig rocks away from around the run. My husband had me practice with a 22? It was a single load small rifle looking thing.
It took three shots...
Wow this has been a long process but I wanted to share coop picks! I would love to have your feed back!

Youngest daughter decided to cut worms up over the brooder and got three of the chicks really good with worm guts. How do I clean this off the keep the other chicks away? I've tried to whipr it off with a with a wet towl but it's no good.
Will it hurt the chick to get it wet?
They are about two...
I sure hope thats all it is... she's doing it about every 30 seconds? She's sampled some worms so far and some oats. I'm going to buy them some grit tomarow...
Well hopefully it leeds to a dumb answer. One of my Leghorn chicks keeps strtching its neck and opening it's mouth wide like its trying to caw.. gosh I don't know how else to explaine it?
He/she is only about a week and a half old?
Is this normal?
Thank you so much! They are peepng up a storm now that I don't have my head over the box. Lol. I dug them some worms and let them have a feild day. That was the funniest thing I have ever seen!
I bought six chicks today from cal ranch. Two rhode island red's, 2 araucanas, and two white leghorns. They arn't all just yellow fluff, they have some feathering on the wings. This is my first time with chickens, if you can't tell
I've posted pictures on my blog...
