try putting the Alpha hen by herself in a small brooder type pen for two or three days. Then release her to rest of birds and see how it goes then. I just did this with a Roo and it worked perfectly.
How can I tell the difference in my chickens that are buff colored with a single comb and black with a single comb. Seems that their are a couple of breeds for each that have these traits.
Congrats. We just found what we thought was our first eggs last night at twenty weeks. Then found six more outside of the coop on a hay bale. Very exciting and worth the efforts for a newbie. Looking forward to scarfing down fresh eggs as often as I want.
