Can you hatch chicks when treating with Ivermectin?

I was wondering if it’s possible to hatch chicks from hens that have been treated with ivermectin pour on? Has anyone ever tried this before, does it affect egg fertility?

Breeding Silver Laced to Black or White Cochins

Thanks! I think I will try both ways and see what the results are. I don’t know much about color genetics but I think it would be a good project just to see what happens, honestly the lacing probably isn’t the best to begin with since they are from hatchery stock. I also have some nice...

Breeding Silver Laced to Black or White Cochins

I’m getting some Silver Laced Cochins from McMurray hatchery in the spring, I’m assuming they are going to be far from standard. I was wondering if it would be better to breed them to show line white or black Cochins to improve type, which would preserve more of the lacing if any in the offspring?

    *GRAPHIC* First Necropsy Help

I just asked the breeder and she said she has started having her birds die from fatty liver also so she said it was genetic most likely. I had the first one that died sent to a lab and she was formally diagnosed with fatty liver disease and died from it rupturing, so I figured since she didn’t...

    *GRAPHIC* First Necropsy Help

Your right about the bleeding, I now see and realize that it’s large blood clot in some of the pictures. Maybe fatty liver and it ruptured but I’m not sure why my hens are overweight and overeating if that’s the case.

Best way to improve Wyandotte tail carriage?

Okay, thanks! I’m definitely excited to keep working with them, doesn’t seem like many breeders are. I’m definitely going to aim for shorter backs and higher tails next year. This is my second year breeding to standard so I’ve still got a lot to learn about it.

Best way to improve Wyandotte tail carriage?

I started working with these LF Silver Penciled Wyandottes last year, tails aren’t very good on them but they are the only Silver Penciled I could find from a breeder that was willing to ship chicks or hatching eggs. Tail carriage is very low, most of them are missing a lot of their primary tail...

Severe lice infestation, what are my best options?

The Elector PSP worked! The permethrin dust helped a lot for putting it on surfaces like on top and in the nesting boxes, where I was seeing them the most. I also filled in the cracks in the wood of my nesting boxes with caulk, I think that’s where they were mostly hiding.

    How to treat swollen face/neck?

He is only 3 months so that may be why he looks like a hen but he is definitely a cockerel, looks totally different from the pullets his age, same breed. (pic below) I was thinking maybe an eye injury also, crazy enough my grandma just had cataract surgery so I should be able to get the eye...
