    I need to vent!

I had a Rooster a very beautiful friendly rooster. I loved him so much but he was hurting my hens. I looked up how to remove the spurs and I did the potato method. Well that’s not for me I went weak at the knees and felt horrible for my baby who was bleeding. I made the decision that I could not...

What breed is she? Purple skin, white feathers, and black spots.

You might never know what breeds they are. these two chickens created some very different babies. He looks like an amber sex link and she looks like a barred rock I was shocked when these two were hatched.

    URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR DUCK

I wish people would understand you can’t chase them like that! One day someone left our back door open when I had relatives over and ALL the chickens were in the kitChen, so my family thinking they were helping started chasing them down and they were flying everywhere I was so scared they would...

    Lone chicken

Chicks would take longer you have to wait until they are big enough before introducing them to her. If she’s not broody she might kill them or try to. Idk but I had a hen kill chicks before and it was traumatizing.

How to Introduce Chicks to Flock

I had two pullets added to the flock once and they were terrified which caused them to be bullied a lot more Which made them hide all the time. When I had four pullets they had more courage and would keep to themselves And we’re not bullied as often and we’re confident enough to wander freely.

Injured bantam hen, how do I treat her eye injuries?

There is an eye ointment I use for my cats at tractor supply called terramycin. It’s eye antibiotics and for the face you can use neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment. I’m not a professional I’m just giving an opinion

    Heating Chicken Coop???

I use a oil heater in the chicken coop at night. When it’s cold it puts off just enough heat to warm the coop. it has no red heat so less fire risk. Just hot metal.

    Dog / Human Conflict

I wish people were more responsible with their animals. I live in a neighborhood where people think it’s okay to let their untrained dogs run loose and cats unspayed to have litters of kittens that ultimately die probably starving freezing or dog death. I’ve lost one chicken to my neighbors...

    Opinions please

If you want to start a hatchery you should probably have purebreds. People want to know what they are buying and maybe won’t go for the mixed breeds, idk though. Maybe you can separate the chickens half the hens for the dominant and half for the young roo. Seperate the purebreds and the mixed...

    Dogs vs Cats POLL! 🐶🐱

My dogs are protectors, my cats are killers. I’ve trained my dogs to break up cat fights and they are perfect at it. Dogs 100 % even though I love cats.

Incubating more eggs than chicks you can keep

I don’t think you should hatch. If you only have room for 6 and only want pullets I’d go for the auto sex birds. Hatching eggs is risky like others said if you want at least six to hatch you would have to double the eggs which puts the risk of more then six hatching and possibly a bunch of males...
