I hatched 18 chicks of which I am sure that 8 are pullets and 7 are cockerels. However, I still have 3 of which I am unsure of. The first two chicks grew their feathers relatively quickly and are almost fully feathered, but their combs are suspicious. The third chick grew its feathers quicker...

No longer have the vorwerk pullets. After having them for some time, they weren't the chicken breed for me. Depending on where you are located I bought them from Grandchester hatchery in QLD Australia. However, I would not recommend this hatchery.
Not planning to breed it. Either way. After this experience definitely not. Took to long to grow out, slow feathering, took eons for it to get a few tail feathers and now I find out that it is a cockerel. To whomever has an odd one like I had, this indeed is a cockerel.
It turns out that the chicken that I thought was a pullet which I now call The thing or it. Is a cockerel. It is now 5 months old and the saddle feathers have now only come through. See images below of my cockerel in hiding. Let me know what you think. Wyandotte's indeed are tricky things.
I have 10 eggs in the incubators and one of them looks different. The other nine eggs look fine nice veining and visible movement. There is no movement in this egg and the veining is hard to make out. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for feedback. Will take a lot of work and time. Obviously he must be a cross bred Brown Leghorn too since he has the same or similar leg colour my dorkings have.
I have 3 silver grey Dorking pullets. But no rooster. I have a brown leghorn rooster which I want to breed with them. I just have the following questions.
How would the offspring look like?
Would any chicks have 5 toes?
Otherwise how long or how many generations would it take to breed back to...
Chick has dried off now. I just have one question, can a Wyandotte rooster and Maran hen create offspring with a standard normal comb? As I thought that the offspring inherits the comb of the father, a rose comb.
I need some advice urgently:
This same egg is now on day 22 and is having problems hatching. I haven't opened the incubator. It pipped on day 20 and has been in the egg for about 45 hours now.
Any suggestions would be kindly appreciated.
I have a Maran cross Wyandotte egg in the incubator that I am concerned about. It is still alive, but can someone tell me that the egg looks fine for day 14.
See attached pictures.
I have a Silver Laced Wyandotte chicken which a broody hatched. It is now 9 weeks old. It is not behaving like a cockerel or pullet. It has still a small comb and wattles. It has a lack of tail feathers but other than that it is almost fully feathered. Do you see a pullet or a cockerel???
Those that Hatched, have hatched in a nesting box. The hen rolled the other eggs out of the nest, so I didn't candle, as they probably were dead already. Thanks for your comments.
To anyone who lives in Australia, be warned by the following Hatchery Darling Downs or Peak Crossing hatchery sold me these wrong breed of chicks. Here are the Brown Leghorns now.
Nice Brown Leghorns but definitely not Welsummer chickens.
