    Pictures of lavender orpington chicks

Holy cow that's one big Roo  I'm pretty sure mine are all hens (what are the odds? Got them straight run!) as at 6,5 weeks old now they still only have small(ish) pink combs. And well, my shoulders aren't that wide, pretty sure they won't think of it as a great spot to sit when they are...

    Pictures of lavender orpington chicks

Yeah for sure! I had one chick die at 2 days old and couldn't tell the breed... Thought it was a lav orpington that died and this white one was just a super light splash swedish isbar........ Nope! She's as big as the lavenders and acts like them, too. This was her last week: And this week :

We'll see what happens, lol! I'm not too worried about it, and she did it on her own, I never taught her that. 😂

    Pictures of lavender orpington chicks

This one is sleeping on my leg as I type this message. They are very sweet birds. I have a fourth which is white instead of lavender (same parents though) maybe the hen ran out of ink? 😂 I have 2 darker ones (in the pictures here) one lighter one and one that's white. I'll stop spamming your...

    Canadians check in here....

Oh wow how awesome, didn't think I'd find 'neighbours' on here! I got my Isbars at Hurkett Hill farm, she's getting ready to sell off her Isbars, though. I think right now she's still hatching eggs. Oh and I would love a few marans!! That sounds like such a fun mix of breeds! 😊 what kind of...

    Pictures of lavender orpington chicks

All these are taken at 1.5/2.5/3.5 wks old (taken on wednesdays and they were hatched Thursday/Friday so almost 2wks at the first I guess) adding onto these again, today 😊 So far I can't tell gender yet, but I'm starting to think they might all be hens, but from everything I've read these are...

    Isbar thread

Look like hens to me, but I'm new at this also so I don't know 😂 I just know my #3 looks WAY more like a roo than the rest so I'm assuming... And I hope I'm assuming right!

    Isbar thread

First pic it's the middle picture, other 3 it's the bottom for 4 weeks. I think I have 3 hens and one roo. Does anyone know if its usual for a splash to be as diluted as my chick #4? As far as I can tell she's basically feathering out white.

    Starting out, MANY questions

Been a while since I posted here. We now have 10 four week old chicks (Ameraucanas, Lavender Orpingtons & Silverudd Isbars) who have already stolen my heart. We're finishing up the run this week or early next. Just need to finish the hardware cloth (using 1/2in) which we're securing with washers...

    Gender guesses?

I have some chicks that I still don't have a clue about their genders.... Any input from more experienced chicken keepers? 😁 They are all 4 weeks old. Pictures are 1.5/3/4 wk stages. Lavender Orpingtons: 1 2 3 Ameraucanas: 1 (I'm thinking, Hen) 2 (this one was getting a bit more...

    First Chicks; help identifying breeds?

This was the older chick last Wednesday, pretty sure this one is a Hen. Don't have any pictures more recent than this one... Lots of videos, though.

    First Chicks; help identifying breeds?

Well I'm now proficient enough to recognize what chick is what breed so I got that going for me 🤣 the older chick is quite likely a hen, one of the younger swedish Isbars is probably a Roo (wattles are starting and the comb is getting bigger and redder by the day... Still tiny though) especially...

    First Chicks; help identifying breeds?

#1 Silverudds Blue, splash(hen?) #2 lavender orpington #3 Ameraucana, blue (?) #4 Silverudds Blue, splash (I'm thinking this might be a roo... Time will tell!) #5 lavender orpington #6 Ameraucana (blue or black?) #7 Silverudds Blue (?), splash. Have a hunch might be a hen. #8 Ameraucana...

    First Chicks; help identifying breeds?

    I was told #3 is an Ameraucana 😊 so #1 Silverudds Blue, (hen?) #2 lavender orpington #3 Ameraucana #4 ? #5 lavender orpington #6 ? #7 ? #8 ? #9 lavender orpington #10? #11?
