Thank you so much!
What would I breed the offspring to, in order to get lavenders, if I wanted to go that route?
Type wise, out of the 3, which one looks closer to standard to you? I think it's the lavender followed by the buff and then the red/white, but again I'm really new to this.
Buff cockerel. 9m/o, note color of face. Lots of feathering on both outer and middle toe
Red pyle cockerel. Correct color of face but no feathering of middle toe.
Alternately I am being offered this roo:
Which I feel looks best type wise, but I'm told he's lavender and he's a lot lighter...
First off let me say that I'm in Mexico and my ability to import birds is nil. Getting them flown in from other parts of the country is about all I can do and even that is hard.
I contacted supposedly the best silkie breeder in the country and he currently has two cockerels. One is a 9 month...

Sorry I haven't posted! I stopped getting notifications lol.
Day 14, ducky is quite active and there's very good vascularization!!! I think Ducky is gonna make it!
My partner can tell young silkie males from females using beak shape. Is this a thing with Polish as well?
I can't do it, but he can and he's usually right too.

Suspected male first with yellow wing. Suspected female with white wing.
I've gotten at least three eggs to term, none of them had any visible external deformities and I think I know how to fix the issues that cropped up during or close to hatch. Humidity is pretty damn close to ideal for lockdown, in fact higher than I would like for the beginning of incubation, and...
Candling today, beginning of vascularization detected. Still too faint to video on my crappy phone, but undeniably there. It's official, folks. Ducky is alive!
