They’re 3 days old. We made them shoes and one is significantly improved but the other not so much. I feel bad for them bc they can’t move around as well as they’re siblings. I’m not sure I made their shoes correctly? How do I keep their legs more together? I’ve never had this problem before so...
Out of 25 eggs, we had 16 successful hatches. Sad for the loss ones but pleased for our first ever incubation to go well!
We did have 2 hatch with curled toes and we are kind of struggling with fixing it for them. Any advice appreciated!
A few pics attached bc they’re too cute not to share 🥰🐣

I’ll give that a try! I’m not certain that’s it though. It’s perfectly alert and active, waddling all over like a penguin poor thing. Could it be that even though it’s so active?
I’ve never had a chick hatch that couldn’t walk. This little one is almost 24 hours old and can’t stand or walk properly. I’m attaching a couple photos and a video to show you what I mean. I tried to put little cardboard sandles on it but I’m not sure I’ve done it correctly. Any advice would be...
My update so far...
Out of 25 eggs we still have 23 going into lockdown. Got our first pip last night on day 20. Woke up this morning to 5 more pips! 🐣
Hello everyone! My son decided that he wanted to do his science fair project on what would happen if we crossed our Easter egger rooster with our Bantam Cochin hen. And true to our luck, our eggs did not hatch in time to complete it with a finished chick. Has anyone here ever had one that was...
Did our first candling last night and all 25 are developing! Umm I expected maybe half! It’s okay, but definitely shocking 😂 We have 20 barnyard mix eggs and 5 bantam eggs. :jumpy
Hey guys! This is my 8 week old leghorn/EE cross. It looks so much like it’s leghorn momma, but is a lot more red in the comb so I’m thinking maybe a cockerel?
The little golden colored one with feathered feet may be a Bantam Cochin. I have one that looked just like this as a baby and is the absolute SWEETEST of all of my hens :)
Disclaimer: I am noooo expert and still learning, so take for what it's worth lol
Regardless, welcome to BYC and...
Thoroughly inspected her just now before burial. We found an empty crop, no marks of any kind on her, and her stomach and vent appeared normal. The only thing we found unusual in the coop was a pool noodle that my youngest son left at the edge of the run at some point. There are chunks out of it...
No free ranging. They eat an all flock feed, the same as they’ve been eating for about a year now. They do get scraps of green veggies, sometimes leftover meats, occasional fruits. Same scraps they’ve always eaten. Nothing new in diet.
Run and coop are predator proof, no signs of any predators...
