Opie is our Buff Orpington roo...same color as Opie's hair on Andy Griffith show. Fancy Pants roo of many colors. Houdini was our little escape artist and Rod Stewart was a Polish with that great tuft of feathers on top of his head.
I think of favorite movies and get ideas from them.
we have been charging $3 for the last couple 2 years but now charge all new customers 3.50. this summer when we don't have any surplus we'll go to 3.50 for everyone. I noticed that the farmers market and grocery are starting to sell for nearly $4 for FREE RANGE eggs.
As for free egg...
my chickens seem to do pretty well in all but the 100 degree weather. they have a shady coop they can go into and I make sure they have lots of water. I grew up in Minnesota but have been near Ft Worth for nearly 30 years now so I guess I am adjusting. I do try to get the lighter colored...
Braggs Mountain Buffs really impressed me. they are slow to mature and don't start laying until maybe 8 months old but the egg size is amazing. Anyone in the Ft Worth area want to split an order? I don't want 25 but would like half and order.
