Chicken won’t get up in the morning

I’m leaning towards sour crop based on what I’m reading. I was trying to feel her crop again and she kinda burped. And it smelt awful. Based on what I’m reading that’s a symptom of sour crop. How would I proceed?

Chicken won’t get up in the morning

I her crop isn’t full. It feels as though there may be a little bit of something in there. Rather squishy. She did just discharge this out of her vent

Chicken won’t get up in the morning

Previous owner said she is 2. Unknown if she has laid, I wouldn't be able to tell. Her droppings are slightly runny. Her crop is normal, bright red and soft. Palpating below her vent i did not feel anything out of the ordinary.

Chicken won’t get up in the morning

Last week I bought 2 hens from an owner nearby. They were fine other than some feathers lost due to an over aggressive rooster. This morning I let them out of the coop and I went back to check on them to realize that one of my new hens is still on the roosting pole sleeping. She is refusing to...

    Roosting Issues

Like I said, that smaller board was my second attempt. Based on what everyone said my original board was better, it just needed to be higher. I’ll put it back in, move out the trash can and sand down the edges. I’m attaching the original board I used in the first place

    Roosting Issues

Narrow is surprising to me based on the reaction I was having with the wider board. I’m attaching a picture very similar to what I was using. From the responses I got I just need to sand the corners and removed the higher trash can of this post

    Roosting Issues

I’ll post a pic of what I was using before tomorrow. From what you guys are saying the board was fine, it was just the trash can was the higher object and that’s why they weren’t using it

    Roosting Issues

So my original post wasn’t too big, it was too low?

    Roosting Issues

A little bit of vulnerability here on my part as I thought I had come up with an inexpensive way to create a roosting pole for my girls. It basically entailed buying 2 cinder blocks, running a post through them elevated about 8-12 inches. The girls wouldn’t use it. They would sit up there at...

Is my 5-6 Week Old RIR a Roo?

The first one I am pretty sure is a roo. That that comb is very bright and big for 6 weeks. Tough to tell with the other one but slight lean to roo. I’ll attach pictures of my 2 RIR hens. They are 12 weeks old and don’t even have combs that big

How long to feed chick starter?

5 pounds of starter mixed with 1 pound of scratch. Their food is always full. They have access to it 24 hours a day.
