    thanks for your reply. yes they’re the only options at the moment So I’m guessing I’ll try a mix of the two. I’ve heard they‘re both quiet timid which I like and hopefully the isa brown can live a little longer than the two years 😊

    Hey mate, I’m in Melbourne and no I’m not allowed any males. So I either give them away or grow them for meat birds. I’m in suburbia so only allowed hens. Seller really got me. Very dissatisfied with my first poultry experience 🤦🏻‍♂️

    yeah.. I guess novices will always be taken for a ride. Not a good way to start in the poultry world but so be it. Thanks so much for your input and I’ll know for the future. I thought the females would be a little red but reading your comments I can see that isn’t the case at all. Thanks mate

    I got them from a local lady who hatched or bought these a few months back. But she had no idea what they where. She couldn’t tell me sex or anything else. I thought I’d at least get 3-4 hens out of 10. But looks like I have none.

    Hi guys, finally got my coop done and thought I’d post some pics of my chooks! I still have no idea the sex or the breed so any help would be greatly appreciated 😊 I believe there are about 3-4 roosters as they’re the larger birds but I’m unsure.

    Wow! That’s pretty epic. At what age do you harvest the Cornish X? Quail seem to be like a bit of fun. Do you have the Japanese quail?
