These chicks are definitely a cross of Swedish Flower hen and Phoenix mix. Only 4 chicks, I wasn't going to hatch another batch but now I got 2 Swedish flower hens being broody so I gave them eggs to sit on also.
Now it's just waiting for them to grow up to determine if they're worth keeping...
So I've been very observant of my disabled rooster "Bobby". His progress has been a daily adjustment with his feet and legs being miss positioned which causes him to be imbalanced and walking like he has hot pokers with every step. He of course is at the very bottom of the pecking order.

Are Phoenix hens very broody?
I have some chicks right now for a Swedish Phoenix project.
Plus I like to experience a hen raising her chicks.
This breed is new to me.
When hatching your own flock and come across some chicks with feet deformities. Like the toes bent away from where they should be.
Would that be from degrading genetics of both the parent?
Or inaccurate incubation conditions?
I had culled a baby chick from my hatch due to this condition. I...
So I don't know how size reflects the next generation.
I want to breed a Phoenix which is a small standard to my Swedish flower hen medium/ large to develop a longer tail on the Swedish flower rooster.
By crossing the size difference would the next generation take on the small standard or...
Anyone bought Swedish flower hens in the last 2 years from greenfirefarms?
If you have pictures can I see them? And if you can comment on quality and health, that would be helpful.
Do white orpingtons exist?
I was recalling on a memory of my first chickens about 30 years ago. I didn't know what breed they were. Only thing I remember was legs were yellow all white feathers and plump looking birds.
Last week I was in the process of laying new bedding in the coop, until my rooster came to hang out with me while I was working. So I took a break to record this.
Finally got around to hatching some watermael eggs except I only have one chick from it. It's officially my pet chicken, lol. Please let it be a cockerel 🙏.
It's 4 or 5 days old now, so tiny and cute.
So last year I hatched out 10 eggs from my snowflake hen.
In that batch produced 2 crested twins. I decided to keep both of them.
Now that there past a year old all the non-crested swedish flower hens bully the crested because they don't look like them.
So my thought is that chickens can...
Has anyone hatched out large fowl eggs and end up getting a couple of bantam size chickens of the large fowl?
My hatch from my own flock last month produced 2 bantam sized version of my large flock breed. There only 4 weeks old but there siblings are twice the size. And both sizes are...
So my chicks are 3 days old with no common problems associated with new hatches. There feeding and drinking water on there own. There first day in there outdoor brooder. They are slowly exploring.
