    Breeding quail for money

Would it be better if I separated them if I didn’t want them to breed? I’d have to keep them together for a little while, but I’ve found a guinea pig cage with a divider with a door it it so I can open it when I want them to interact or breed and close it when I don’t.

    Breeding quail for money

Hi, so, my mom got some coturnix quail for us to eat the males and breed to rest for more meat and I got to keep a mean one as a pet. Her name is Irene, and we also have an anomaly Texas A&M male named Shane. I know mean quail aren’t good breeding stock, but do you think I could use them as the...

    Do quail get lonely?

Yes. My mom doesn’t want the Texas A&M’s aggressiveness in the line.

    Do quail get lonely?

He/she hatched with all the other chicks. I just don’t know if he/she will breed with the other chicks and cause a problem or not

    Do quail get lonely?

We got some Coturnix quail and one of the was an A&M quail. We can’t breed him/her with our other quail. If I kept that one in my room would it get lonely? Or should I keep them with my other quail somehow?

    Quail as house pets

Ok. My cat is outside the majority of the time. I'd be more worried about my dog. He never messes with the chickens, but he does go after the wild birds. Do you if there is a way I can teach him to leave him/her alone?

    Quail as house pets

I know they are a similar size to pigeons. Will they fit in pidgeon pants by chance. They function as diapers. I also might be able to get some tiny chicken diapers.

    Quail as house pets

Probably. It is nice and big because it is from our late dog, who was rather big and we have some extra hardware cloth

    Quail as house pets

Hi, we are incubating some quail and I was wondering if it is possible to keep one or two of them inside. The difficult part would be that we have one dog and one cat also living the house. I've read that dogs leave the adults alone, but what about when their chicks and pullets? Also, the cat...

    Why are ameraucana roosters rare?

Americaunas looks similar to an Easter Egger, but they are gray (or at least the ones we have). If you google pictures you can see the difference.

Is it common for a broody hen to be out multiple times?

Broodys will sometimes come out, but you can tell if she’s still broody if she’s puffed up and is announcing to the everyone that she’s broody.

    How do I harvest mealworms?

We take one of the little critter container things and put a generous amount of oatmeal oats in the bottom and put the food on top. You won’t have babies until the worms turn into beetles tho.

    Girl or boy?

Did any grow a comb before the others? The roosters seem to get their combs earlier. Tho I don’t know about those specific breeds

Blue laced red wyandotte not growing

We have two roosters. One was a runt and is almost the same size as the bigger one now. They’re about nine to ten weeks: I would keep an eye on the other chicks and make sure they don’t pick on her/him.

    BYC Café

Hey y’all! Hope I’m not too late for introductions. My name is Tristan and I live in Tennessee. We currently have a mixed flock but we are doing mostly silver dorkings now. I have chick that follows me like a dog. Her name is Grace Coda [last name]. I guess that’s it for now. I love this cafe...
