Oh no, that poor thing! I love my birds, but I really hate how vicious they can be! I can't give any advice on nutrition as I've just started keeping ducks myself, but I've dealt a lot with feather plucking with my Polishes. I do what you're doing, isolate and treat with Blu-Kote. It's hard to...
Got them from the Tractor Supply bantam bin. Never heard of them selling mixed breeds, except breeds like Easter eggers of course, but maybe I'm wrong?
Hello, I have 2 chicks I need help identifying, both are bantams. I think the first one might be a silver laced Cochin, but I'm not sure because it looks like they have brown on the head, and this one doesn't. The second one is definitely looking like a rooster, but not sure of the breed. Thanks...
I'm guessing Old English Game Bantams too, except I'm thinking they're Brassy Backs or Black Breasted Reds. Either way I love their coloring, I bet they will be stunning.
I figured out what they are, Brassy Back Rosecomb Bantams. I thought I'd update on here, just incase anyone else in the future gets this breed and wonders what they are.
I picked up these cuties from the Tractor Supply bantam bin. I've looked online a bunch and still can't seem to figure out their breed. Any help would be much appreciated!
Well chicken math got me again lol. I was in Tractor Supply on a Saturday, there were no chicks out when an employee came out with 10 chicks that had been pulled to the back for a few days because they had bad pasty butt. They were all from the bantam bin and there was a frizzle I wanted so I...
I looked up the info for Spitzhauben but they also have a V comb. I read that the Houdan can have a leaf or butterfly comb so I was thinking they were possibly that but then I learned Houdans have 5 toes, and these guys have 4. I'm hoping someone on here will know what they are.
I got these babies from the Tractor Supply bantam bin on Tuesday, and at first I thought they were Polishes. However, they have a different comb. I have white crested blue and black Polishes and they have a V comb that looks flat at this age. The combs on these chicks has ridges kind of like a...
Thank you for your help! I'm not sure what the comb type is, if I got better pictures of their combs would that help? I was thinking a few were definitely Cochins too from the feathers on their feet. I got a few Speckled Sussex today, chicken math is real lol!
So my husband brought home 6 chicks from Big R, but didn't ask about the breeds. I called and they said they had Ameracuanas, Leghorns, and Golden Sexlinks. I'm guessing the golden chicks are the Golden Sexlinks, but our other chicks all have furry feet, so I was reading they can't be...
