So the two chickens that I have been pretty suspicious of have been sizing eachother up lately and pecking at eachother and the feathers on their necks get fanned out/stand up when they are sizing eachother up lol I don’t know a lot about chickens but do hens do this or is this for sure a roo...
Haha! So the first two pictures is the same chicken that’s cluck cluck thats mostly black and red on the wings and then the two bottom pictures the bird in the back that’s mostly white is chickaletta, those are the two I’m really unsure of! Cluck cluck has always had a larger comb but doesn’t...
They are about 8 weeks. Maybe I am wrong around the saddle feathers! I thought I was seeing them on the white one, right before the tail the feathers pointing down, you would definitely know more about it than me, this is my first flock so maybe I’m seeing things 🤣
The more days that pass the more I’m seeing both of these are males lol pretty sure I’m seeing some saddle feathers on the white and black one! And there’s the red around the eyes and mouth
And the black one has the red on the shoulders which I’m pretty sure is a good indicator, I was hoping...
This is such a beautiful lady!😍😍😍 I will have to start looking out for the saddle feathers on them.
Is it a sign of a male if they have pointed thin feathers around the neck and tail? I have this chicken I’ve always thought was female but her feathers are very pointy but she has no comb atall...
Thank you! Yes I believe they are EE’s! Still hoping that they will both magically be females guess we will find out when they crow or lay an egg! Haha I do like the idea of all different coloured eggs I think that’s pretty good!
Haha oh my! What a surprise! That give me hope though that my daughters favourite chicken can still be a pullet! 🤞 Thank you for the update! I will keep you updated on them 😊
Hi!
They are getting big! I have narrowed it down to two that I am pretty confident are males
This is cluck cluck
and this is Chickaletta, I hope this isn’t a male as this is my daughters favourite 😭
our coop is FINALLY almost finished and we are really looking forward to getting them out
These are the two I have narrowed down to what I think are both males let me know if I’m wrong cuz I’m new to this!
if they are males, does anyone have any suggestions on how/where to rehome them?
thanks!
Cluck Cluck
Chickaletta (I really hope this isn’t a male as this is my daughter favourite)
Good morning everyone!
Currently we still have our chicken in the brooder, They are just over 5 weeks old. We are still building the coop and it has been a VERY cold spring. We are hoping to have the coop complete by the weekend to move them outside. But next week it’s suppose to snow and be...
