Hello! So from the looks of it I have 2 females and 4 males. I was told I’d have to get rid of some males or keep them separate. My husband has decided that we can rehome 2 -3 males and keep the 2 females. We would get more female ducklings as we heard we would need 3 females per male. My...
Hello! Need some advice here. I have 6 ducks. It appears we have two females and the rest males judging by their quack ( if that’s accurate). I heard that you need 3 females per male. My husband says no way we can get 12 more ducks. We also don’t want to get rid of any :( is there anyway we can...
I’m looking to get some more information on what to feed my ducklings. They are 4 weeks old. I fed them chick starter up until 2 and a half weeks. Then switched to lower protein, 18%. But now I have finally found actual duck feed at tractor supply. The brand is Purina. The back says it’s for...
I threw in some mealworms towards the end and it seemed to help a little more. Just wondering if there were some other tips and tricks. I will for sure give peas a try.
I tried giving him the vitamin b complex mixed with his food and some kale and he didn’t really want to eat it. Are there any other suggestions on how to make sure he gets the 1 ml a day?
Thank you so much. I’m picking some up today! I usually give them mealworms as treats. Would it be ok to dip the worm in the liquid and feed it to them?
I have 6 ducklings about 3 and a half weeks old to 4 weeks. They are currently on chick starter. I just changed them to a lower protein one of 18%. I have one specific duckling who seems to always walk on his feet which causes him to stumble and plop down. I notice him scooting around instead of...
that’s awesome! And was kind of our plan as well. Would it be ok if you sent us some pictures of it? We also have a utility sink in our basement which I understand will help a lot. Have you had any trouble with ducklings sneezing from the wood shavings?A few of mine seem to be sneezing so I...
yea I was worried about the smell down there. Do you have any suggestions for a predator proof coop outdoors? This is our first time caring for ducklings.
We have a fenced in backyard. We live in the woods so we get all critters and bears. Our neighbors don’t really have pets and they don’t mind. The previous person who lived here years ago had chickens but unfortunately they got eaten. We can make a coop outside I’m just worried about the predators.
