    Muddy Polish!

I've seen some videos where owners run the crest under the faucet. Would this work too? I'm willing to keep her inside overnight to dry.

    Muddy Polish!

Hi guys! One of my polish hens, Georgette, must have fallen in the mud yesterday during the rain. Today when i went to see her she has a TON of mud cakes onto one side of her crest. I have tried to wash it with a washcloth but cannot get it off. She's extremely skittish and fidgety. Any tips for...

    Limping silkie roo

Hi everyone! This afternoon I noticed my silkie rooster limping a little bit. Tonight I went to go check on them and noticed that he was laying outside in the run. He never went in the hen house with the others. Now he’s just refusing to walk. If I hold him he can definitely grip onto me with no...

    Silkie Gender?

Some friends of mine just rescued a seven-month-old silkie. We are pretty sure it’s a hen but I just want to make sure.

    What breed are these rescues?

Basically pale yellow. I kind of consider it the “default color” LOL . So that’s actually fresh water. It’s an electrolyte mixture that’s tinting it colors. It was just put in minutes before taking the picture.

    Sour crop + green poo?

She won’t eat it off my finger or the syringe period. I’m not able to pry open the beak alone and I don’t have a second set of hands. what if I mixed the minoconazole in water and put it in a waterer?

    Corid dosing?

I suspect my girls may have cocci. I’d like to treat them ASAP but I’m a little bit stuck on dosing. I have a fairly large bottle corrid . The dosing instructions says 16 ounce for every 100 gallons. My waterer is only about 1 gallon… I’m really not good at math so I’m wondering what the dosing...

    Sour crop + green poo?

Hi all! I have a hen with sour crop. She is passing green and white stool. I am trying the minoconazole/yogurt trick but she doesn’t seem to want to eat it. either way, is the green poop associated with sour crop or something else entirely?

    Sand?

I’ve been told to not use play sand under any circumstances as it’s bad for the chickens respiratory health. I honestly just don’t know the difference and want to make sure I don’t buy the wrong stuff

    Sand?

Hi everyone! I’m looking to switch over to sand in my coop and run. I’ve read that you can’t use plays sand which leaves me really confused… I didn’t realize there was different types of sand? If I were to go to Lowe’s can someone show me a picture (of the package) of exactly what type of sand I...

    14 week old silkie… Gender?

Thanks for the info! Either way I’m definitely keeping him/her. Extremely friendly and calm temperament. Let me pick it up with no issues it doesn’t cause any trouble with any of the other chickens… Kind of just does it’s own thing.
