You got to tell me how this went! This is my goal currently because colored laying silkies would be amazing! I have some whiting true blues I'm going to cross with my Frizzle rooster. I'm also going to cross some Silverrudds blues that lay speckled moss eggs!
I heard about the legbar mixed with the SRB. (Called ice cream bars) but I'm going to try breeding Whiting Creole hens to my SRB rooster. Because Whiting Creole is a high production blue egg layer. Has anyone tried this? I ordered some Whiting Creole laying hens from whiting farms hatchery. And...
Very helpful thank you. I was looking to see when I feed them after the first dose. 4 hours in this small quantities Thank you! Also give them water is good info ❤️
In order to get sex-linkage we must mate a gold plumage cock to a silver plumage hen. The female chick will take after the sire and be the same ‘gold’ colour and the male chick will take after the dame and be ‘silver’.
This is so interesting! Wouldn't that be awesome an actually hen!!! Because they are so expensive! I got mine at a huge discount from a local breeder only $20 each chick!!
I have two that are growing in my coop outside I think they are approximately 7 to 8 weeks old. Maybe older. I'm thinking one of them is a rooster and one is a hen. The one I think is a rooster has some maroon coloring growing around it saddle area and has bigger waddles and comb. The one I...
We just got our first Silverrudds Blue egg yesterday! I got her because she's a good winter layer and she lays a beautiful green speckled egg. The one we got is dark green with brown and white speckles! I have the green comparison next to our leghorn egg.
Got some Blue Eggs from Chocolate Amerucanas from a breeder nearby. Hatched them. The outcome would be either olive eggers or Chocolate Amerucanas. I was hoping to figure out which type of rooster this will be. His comb turned red at 3weeks old so definitely a rooster.
We switched out for a swedish flower frizzle hen! She is darling a little skittish right now but getting along with our flock great! Now the person I bought Bugaboo from can focus on recreating a new beautiful breed! ❤️
Bugaboo-is a he and has gotten violent with my 3 yr old and older kids so he is going back to the lady that is breeding stock like him... So sad that he's more territorial than I was hoping. I don't want my littles afraid of chickens. But she has some frizzle swedish flower hens I can trade him...
We purchased a swedish flower chick from a farm nearby found out that in fact it is a mix of a polish frizzle and he is gorgeous about 2 ft tall and the ends of his feathers have tips of white and gorgeous lacing on them. ♥️
Yes my Bugaboo started crowing a few days ago🤦🏼♀️. I guess he got mounted for dominance by the other rooster ( I just sold that one) my current frizzle rooster gets along with him so far we are great. ( Some pictures of Mr. Frizzle just to show him off a little. Bugaboo (the swedish flower...
Next time I'm out in the yard I'll take some updated pictures. I'm super bad at telling if a hen is a hen or a rooster. But either way we're keeping him.
