    One duck left out

I have the ability to keep them separate but they would still see each other and be close (separated run). I am assuming this would be a bad idea?

    One duck left out

I have 4 welsh harlequins that I hatched myself. There are three males and one female. I know that this will very soon create issues for my flock but at the moment I have one male that the other three are not allowing into the coop at night. I have seen them start to mount the female but she is...

Help! Humidity advice for large detached air cells!

Forgot to update! I ended up with 5 ducklings. Most likely two females and 3 males. They’re 2 weeks old today. Two didn’t hatch. I did not open them but judging from candling one pipped internally, and the other I have no idea. It appears the one that pipped most likely drowned.

    Is this normal?

Well I’m just not sure. They do make a little sneezing/cough sound occasionally. They have seemed more “lazy” the past day or two.

    Is this normal?

They do feel moist all the time. Not dripping. I incubated them myself. I didn’t think voices changed this early?? At 10 days old? (I was mistaken on age). They’re welsh harlequins, if bill color is correct there are two female and three male.

    Is this normal?

I guess the one to the very right is the most “wet” looking. Any clue about the honk? It sounds a bit like a soft blow to one of those party horns with the streamers hanging off of them.

    Is this normal?

Does the fluff on these ducklings look normal? They don’t feel wet but the fluff looks clump s like they’re wet. I also have one that sort of honks when she breathes. I’m new to ducks and unfamiliar with duckling behavior. They are 11days old.

    Stuck?

I finally found some brewers yeast at a vitamin store. I have been giving an electrolyte mix and she seems improved already. Would those vitamin e capsules for human consumption work? Just to break open? If so, how much do I give her?

    Stuck?

This duckling seemed fine after breaking through the shell in that position. As she ( I say she bc they’re welsh harlequins and beak looks pink) dried I noticed she’s looking straight up. It keeps her from standing but she is still very lively. What can I do? The feed store I went to only had...

    Stuck?

The other duckling rolled it over and helped it out. Ok I’m very new to incubating. This is super gross but is this normal? Other one did not have this either. Also, I only have other eggs that have pipped. Should I take the other two out before they progress more?

    Stuck?

Is this baby stuck? This is only the second to hatch. The other did not hatch like this.

    Hatching advice please!!!

No rocking and haven’t been able to hear peeps. Some are in cartons to keep the air cell pointing up. The incubator I have it’s difficult to hear anything.

    Hatching advice please!!!

They are not anymore. I did have one that was on a paper towel that had gotten wet but I quickly swapped it out once I noticed it.

    Hatching advice please!!!

So two started to zip about 12:00. How long before I need to help?! It’s now 2:25. I assume they’re trying to zip. New break beside the pip?

    Hatching advice please!!!

So just to clarify, once they start to zip it can take 48 hrs? Or 48 hrs to start to zip once they have pipped?
