Good to know. That’s really frustrating though cause he was way more expensive then the EEs.

    Is this a cockerel?

Bought as an Americana pullet but it’s started trying to crow, which I know hens can do, but also way bigger than the others and the four others come running when it calls. There are five in this group. The Americana, two EE, a barred rock and a Starling Green egger. Here are some pics. Thanks...

Crop issue in ISA brown laying hen

Oddball (my 1 year old isa brown hen) has been having crop issues for months, like six months, and I’m at a loss of what to do. Bumble foot help needed

Yes there are two spots. We did remove the scab and squeezed out the puss. The black in the one is from corn starch as she started bleeding extremely bad and it wouldn’t stop with just holding pressure.

    Bumble foot help needed

I called a local farm store and got her on some amoxicillin. It’s powdered and I was told to sprinkle it on a wet bit of bread and do this twice a day for five day. Thank you for your reply.

    Bumble foot help needed

I’ve got a year old hen with a really bad case of bramble foot. We’ve already removed the scab and all the yellow gunk we could but it’s still hot/warm and I think she needs a course of antibiotics. This is the second time she has had this in three months. Each time I’ve soaked the foot in epsom...

Confirmed Avian Pox in wild bird in my backyard.

We found what I thought was a young injured robin. Took it to our wildlife rescue center and found out it had avian pox. I have a flock of six hens that free roam in my backyard where the robin was found. What do I need to do to protect my hens? Four were bought from tractor supply as day old...
