No rain clouds here, or parades looking for some sort of praise. Was just trying to help someone out as well as myself. They are chickens, a primary source of food for us humans. People (including me) eat chicken almost daily.
Thanks 👍🏻
I hate when people flake out. I felt so bad that I couldn’t take them all when you had the chance but Mother Nature really threw A curve ball and I didn’t want to Bring them here with no shelter at all.
I definitely would have room for the one or two (up to three really) immediately if you need a hone for her.
We got hammered with snow here so it took me a while to get us dug out. But the chickens are adapting to their snow lives for the next few months
Let me know if you need a home I am...
They figured it out and now I have to the two Cornish X birds (one roo and his hen) hanging out under the pallets hiding from the snow Bc they are to lazy to run back in 🤣
I got a good idea for a setup in my basement for a little bit to make sure all is well, and it stays hella cold down there (just above freezing) so it should t mess with their winter coats for when they transfer out to coop. I currently have crazy chicken pen bc it’s starting to snow so the...
I will look into those. I’m kicking myself Bc all summer TSC had the large heated poultry fountains and I told myself “yeah I’ll get one when I need to” and now I’m struggling a little with it lol. I guess that’s why the saying “don’t put off for tomorrow what can get done today”
Wow is it cold here on the mountain today. 26degrees today. This sucks! Even the chickens aren’t happy. I need to find a way to keep these water bowls from freezing 🥶. Going out 2 or 3 times a day to change frozen water is a bear.
i Really wouldn’t complain if we stayed 35degrees right through...
100% a no kill house here. I too have no way to transport them or even meet half way right now but if they could get to liberty they have a home. sorry 4 kids and wife works at night and kids homeschool. But I have 18 bird flock started this spring. I ended up with 6 Cornish cross straight run...
Well I found a package of bird netting in the neighbors garage and we used it to cover approximately 75% of the boys pen. All along the outside is done.
Let’s see how effective this works.
Thank you for all the ideas. I am at my wits end. All 5 flew the pen last night and I found 4 in the coop with the flock and 1 up on the shooting rest of my tree stand for the night. I have everyone separated AGAIN but it’s dance I have to do with them everyday is getting old faster than I...
Little crack heads flew the makeshift coop already . Flew right up and out and over these guys haven’t flown out the whole time they been in there (6-7monrhs old now). Ugh I am going to have to cull these 5 birds and save my girls stress, they won’t even come out of the coop now. Problem is...
