She is still alive. Blood dried up and the lump doesn't feel as tender.
Spraddle legs are doing fine too.
I should leave couple of days more to make sure legs are fixed.
3 more chicks are hatched along.
Silkies are gentle with excellent mom so I am leaving with them.
She/he is acting ok. Also has a spraddle legs so I fixed it up. moving and seeking warmth of mother hen. not eating and drinking as well as peers though. Lump got smaller dried up. I'll take photos again. Still squishy though.
Hi,
My newborn silkie has lump on its head.
Feels soft, squishy, looks like blood-filled.
It is just born so I don't know it is just tired or sick.
Does anybody know what it is?
I am getting worried, is it going to survive?
It is true that silkies can hatch the rock.
One silkie hen was...
Spraddle leg.
Luckily the post below mine explains it.
I layered paper towel to provide traction and put rubber band.
Hopefully deformation is not permanent.
One of our silkies is unable to walk.
It is gaining weight and moves around just fine but all of sudden today it cannot walk properly.
Looks like right leg is broken(?) nothing happened really that have caused trauma (my daughter likes to handle them but she is not rough)
Is it common? Is...
