    Roomies house so I cant quite get rid of her. Like I said, she's got so many cats.... hasn't even missed the first 3, and that was even when I wasn't 100% positive what was getting the chicks. I'm still only 99.5% sure, but that's close enough for me. Outside the fence, under the propane...

    Well, this is my first year of raising chickens. In the last 2 weeks I have lost 5, 7 week old chicks... 2 rir and 3 beautiful wyandotte. Roomie has cats... to many to mention which I was pretty sure is the KILLERS. We have a fenced in back yard.. pretty small but 15 birds have plenty of room...

    Roommate/Landlord says that was enough till next spring. Gotta figure out what we got... Find a home for the roosters then go from there. Believe me, I'm ready to start looking for eggs. I love doing this!

    My first hatch lasted 2 days.. well alittle over 48 hours... .I slept for 3 hours. Had to take an extra vacation day just to rest!

    Still pipping but doing real good this morning. Has accomplished more in the last hour than all day yesterday. I think being at the wrong end just made everything harder for him. Thanks everyone!

    Upside down Egg

    Had the same problem yesterday... I was so stressed. BUT with the help of everyone here, I calmed down. Mine piped at the wrong end since 10 yesterday morning. Used the egg carton, but with the small end being down, I thought maybe the weight of the shell would be to much for him to push off...

    Nose is poking in and out one the bottom piped egg. I think he will be okey. Still not gonna help YET. He'll probly stay in there till late tonight... just to stress me out more...haha

    awww, he's sitting by the one thats got the biggest pip. He peeps then the other one does. Like he's saying "hurry up" and the other is answering back "I'm trying" Way to cute. This is stressful !!!!

    I just looked again. Actuallly when I first noticed this it was about 10 this morning. Bigger hole than I thought. if there is any kind of fluid in there, I think it would have drained out by now, or poor chicky would have drowned by now. Seems that it is bigger than when I first noticed it...
