I wasn’t able to get to the store to get the hardware cloth so for the meantime I just use the chicken wire I intend to put the hardware cloth around the perimeter and over top I should be doing...

    Phase one under way!! Built one nesting box In and boarded up back partially adding chicken wire to bottom for breeze. Rain stopped me in my tracks which kills me because I love an excuse to use my drill and miter saw!! But I think I’m on the right track!!

I can figure out how to Put the nesting boxes outside in fact as I’m looking at it I think it’s definitely possible here’s a picture of what I’m thinking.     Here’s another question I am thinking they’re going to need more ventilation should instead of walling off The back window opening all the way should I leave space in there for ventilation and just put chicken wire doubled up over it so they get ventilation or do you think having the front door...

I’m assuming yes so should the nesting boxes be on the ground or elevated up...

    The last thing I want is unhappy chickens... my kids treat them like pets. So now.... I have to figure out what to do. I’ll take any advice. I can build onto it, expand run immensely, scrap it and build something new all together.

    Yep... exactly what I feared.. these chickens are BIG. SO.... scrap the whole thing or remodel their humble abode... I am pretty handy. I have a TON of scrap wood. I thought of taking out the floor, To expand walking room and then building walls around it and reattaching floor Raising the roof...
