I keep seeing to put apple cider vinegar with the water but have not seen the reason for it. If you use it, how much do you use?

My hen, Phoenix, was lethargic, not eating/ drinking much.... gave her cool bath/ electrolytes,ice water.... seemed a little better, than died the next day also. I felt terrible. The other girls panted, but were other wise fine.
